Working from home actions in the municipality of Gemert-Bakel

To keep our region accessible, we offer residents many travel alternatives such as public transport. Another way to leave the car at home more often and reduce traffic on the roads is to work from home more often. There are therefore two actions in the municipality of Gemert-Bakel to encourage working from home.

Action 1

Joint home working days in Gemert, de Mortel, Elsendorp and Handel on January 23 and 30.

Action 2

Free do-not-disturb door hanger for the home workplace for Bakel, Milheeze and the Rips.

1. De Gemert home working days

Research shows that people miss social contact when they work from home. That is why we are organizing two home working days in the villages of Gemert, Elsendorp, Handel and de Mortel on January 23 and 30. All households (with the exception of no-no/no-yes stickers) will be sent a card inviting them to work from home on these days, if possible. The card contains a voucher for 1 free coffee or tea so that they can have a coffee break with neighbors. Just like in the office. The voucher can be handed in at Brasserie Lekker Bijzonder in Gemert or the mobile barista Dafeïn.

January 23

  • 10am – 11am | Lieverman playing field
  • 11.30am – 12.30pm | Hein de Witpark
  • 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Playground de Kopse
  • 2:30 PM - 3:30 PM | Playing field Indiëplantsoen

January 30

  • 10am – 12pm | Sint Christoffelplein (Elsendorp)
  • 12.30 – 2.30 pm | Church of Our Lady (Trade)
  • 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM | Playing field Lochterweg (de Mortel)

Working from home not possible? Flexible working on location is possible!

If you do not want or cannot work from home, but want to leave the car at home, you can of course also look for a flexible workplace. De Lage Beemden Library in Gemert (Sint Annastraat 60) offers this option, even outside the promotional period.

2. Free do not disturb door hanger for the home office

Working from home when you are at home with a child or roommate can present challenges. Distractions quickly lurk. To help people close down and concentrate better, we send residents of Bakel, de Rips and Milheeze a door hanger. This door hanger says 'come in' or 'shhh I'm at work'. For example, someone can use the door hanger on the door of an office or kitchen to indicate that they are working with concentration.

Result of these actions

The effect of these actions on traffic levels is also measured. Are there fewer cars on the road? Read more about this here the research.
