License plate research for the municipality of Gemert-Bakel

In the municipality of Gemert-Bakel, from mid-January two actions place to stimulate working from home. In order to gain insight into the effect of these actions, a license plate survey is being conducted. This will provide an answer to the question: "Do the actions reduce the number of cars on the road?" This is a study in collaboration with research and consultancy agency Duwtje and traffic agency Meetel.

Two cameras will be placed on the N607 in Bakel, just before the Aarle-Rixtelseweg roundabout. And two cameras on the N272 in Gemert at Hectometer marker 2.5. One camera records the traffic leaving the village and one camera records the traffic entering the village. In total there are four cameras.

In what period is the research conducted?

The cameras record traffic during these periods:

  • On the N272 from January 9 to January 30
  • On the N607 from January 9 to February 10

What about my privacy?

The cameras only register the license plates of cars. These license plates are converted into an anonymous number so that privacy is guaranteed. No privacy-sensitive information is used for the investigation and no recordings are made of people.
