What is the future for the city center of Eindhoven?

Published on December 5, 2022

“Greener, larger terraces, more space for art and culture. Is that the future for the city center of Eindhoven? And are cars and buses still part of that?”

'Absolutely', says our mobility broker Jan Waalen. 'Eindhoven wants to be attractive to visitors in every respect. This includes being hospitable to everyone. So also for people who really rely on the car. At the same time, we need space to make the city more fun. Because a good range of shops is no longer enough to attract visitors. This also requires events or performances, cozy restaurants, wonderful parks. So less asphalt. The trick lies in the combination: making space and remaining hospitable. For example, by tempting people who do not necessarily need a car to choose a different way of traveling. Walk, cycle, train or take the bus!'
